The main objective of the Annual International Integrity Conferences is to stimulate debate through the creation of a space of analysis on new approaches and practices that are generated in the region and worldwide on both anti-corruption and integrity policy, in order to assimilate the best experiences and exchange knowledge among representatives of the academy, public officials, media, private sector, civil society, and experts in the field, in order to develop new, increasingly innovative strategies in the fight against corruption and functional misconduct.

INTERNATIONAL ANNUAL CONFERENCE
FOR THE INTEGRITY CAII 2019

DETECTION OF CORRUPTION:
MECHANISMS AND STRATEGIES
FOR ACTION

Real time audits, the use of artificial intelligence and the use of descriptive and prescriptive analytics tools make easier the work of preventing and detecting acts of functional misconduct and corruption in public administration, worldwide.

Information technologies are advancing at a breakneck pace and Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) will have to incorporate them into their new anticorruption strategies in order to stand up to the systematic infiltration of corruption.

In the International Annual Conference for Integrity (CAII) 2019 “Detection of Corruption: Mechanisms and Strategies for Action”, organized by the Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic of Peru, national and international speakers will share their main advances, findings, and experiences on the topic of the use of cutting edge technological tools as means to optimize the exercise of government control.

It will be a valuable opportunity for the Supreme Audit Institution of Peru to share the advances in the development of an interoperability system between the databases of various public entities with the aim of auditing; as well as this SAI’s experience in the implementation of a System of Sworn Statements for the Management of Conflict of Interests, with the aim of making more transparent the presumed conflicts of interest of the public officials and servants, and at the same time, manage those conflicts with a preventive and timely approach to control.

These actions – added to the System of Sworn Statements of Income and of Assets and Revenues of public officials – aim to create an integrated database that makes it possible to carry out a mass information analysis, in order to detect possible cases of organized corruption or patrimonial imbalance.

In the ninth edition of the CAII 2019, to be held on December 2 – 3 in Lima, we will also debate the possibility that SAIs deploy activities that facilitate coordinated work and mutual collaboration, taking advantage of the new technological and information analysis tools.

Together we will join efforts to improve public governance and fulfil our mission of making a difference in the lives of citizens, who aspire to have access to quality public works and services.

Looking forward to welcome you!
